Teens on the run after milk truck theft
Posted
Darwin police are searching for two teenagers who stole a milk truck in Palmerston early this morning.
Police say a security guard reported the truck being driven along University Avenue about 3:45am.
Duty Superintendent Del Jones says the guard became suspicious when she heard the truck's gears crunching.
She says two men aged between 16 and 18 years old were seen in the truck.
"The security guard was following the vehicle and reporting it through to police," she said.
"Police eventually apprehended the car at Pruen Road.
"The two young gentlemen leapt out of the vehicle and ran off into the scrub and we haven't been able to find them yet."
